Overview

The Quantum Ultrium Universal Cleaning Cartridge (MR-LUCQN-01) is a vital maintenance tool designed to preserve the read/write heads of LTO tape drives across all generations from LTO-1 through LTO-9. This universal tape operates by removing debris and buildup, ensuring high performance and long-term read/write reliability for data archives. It features an integrated computer memory chip that stores usage data, allowing the drive's firmware to track the number of cleaning cycles performed. Depending on the specific drive model, each cartridge supports between 15 and 50 cleaning cycles before reaching its capacity. Once the cartridge is exhausted, the drive automatically ejects it and prevents further use to protect the hardware from potential damage.
